Traditional password managers store passwords in an encrypted vault — a file on disk or in the cloud. If that vault is stolen, attackers can attempt to crack the encryption offline. DVP eliminates the vault entirely. Your passwords are encrypted in a blockchain, but the decryption keys don't exist at rest. They are generated on-demand from your passphrase, used once, then destroyed from memory. Steal the data? It is useless without keys that never persist.
General
DVP is the first consumer password manager built on zero-persistence cryptography with blockchain validation. The underlying technology is patent-pending (US Provisional Patent #63/946,273). While other password managers use encryption, none eliminate the persistent vault that creates a single point of failure.
Yes. All updates, bug fixes, and security patches are free once you purchase DVP. No subscriptions, no upgrade fees. Buy once, use forever.
Not currently. The core cryptographic architecture is patent-pending. Security researchers can request access to review the code under NDA by contacting us at contact@phantomkey.pro.
Windows and Linux. Mac support is planned for a future release. Mobile apps are planned for future releases.
Passphrase & Security
Your passwords are unrecoverable. This is not a limitation — it is a feature. DVP cannot reset your passphrase because it does not have your keys. They are generated from your passphrase and only exist when you use them. Write down your passphrase and store it securely offline.
No. When you change your passphrase, DVP re-encrypts your entire blockchain with new keys derived from your new passphrase. All passwords remain intact and accessible with the new passphrase. The old passphrase no longer works.
Longer is better. A passphrase of 4–5 unrelated words is stronger than a short complex password. Avoid phrases from songs, books, movies, or personal information. The strength indicator in the app must reach at least Good before DVP will accept your passphrase.
On first run, choose a master passphrase you can remember but others cannot. This unlocks your vault in memory — it is never stored on disk or in the cloud. Each time you open DVP, enter this passphrase to unlock. Use the Lock command when you step away — locking destroys the keys in memory and your data is fully protected.
Data & Backup
Yes. Use Settings → Export to export your encrypted chain file. Store it on an external drive or cloud storage. This file is safe to store anywhere because it is useless without your passphrase. To restore, use Settings → Import.
DVP v1.0 is designed for single-device use with manual backup and restore between devices. Multi-device sync is available in Dai Vernon Teams. For now, you can export from one device and import to another, but they will not stay in sync automatically.
Each user must export their own vault separately. Each backup file is encrypted with that user's passphrase — one user's backup cannot be opened by another.
Migration & Setup
Export your passwords to CSV from your current password manager (LastPass, 1Password, Bitwarden, and others all support CSV export). In DVP, use Settings → Import and select your CSV file. DVP automatically maps the columns and encrypts your passwords. KeePass XML format is also supported.
Click + Add Entry to create a new record. Give it a title, fill in username, password, and optionally URL and notes, then click Save. Use the search box to filter entries. Click an entry to view details. Use the copy icons to copy username or password to the clipboard without displaying them.
File — Lock/Unlock the app and Exit (wipes in-memory data).
Entries/Vault — Add Entry, Import from CSV/KeePass, Export backup.
View — Sorting and display options.
Settings — Security settings including passphrase change.
